Identifikasi Benih Beberapa Varietas Melon (Cucumis Melo L.) Menggunakan Pengolahan Citra Digital

Abstract
As technology advances, digital images can be used to identify the morphology of various agricultural commodities. Identification of varieties through seeds can be an alternative identification technique in studying varietal diversity. The purpose of this study was to identify the seed shape of several melon varieties using a digital image analysis approach. Six melon varieties were used in this study, namely Gracia, Japonika, Roxy, Golden Aroma, Red Aroma, and Cantaloupe. Digital images were obtained using scanning techniques and processed using ImageJ V1 47q software. Geometry analysis and shape analysis were carried out on the resulting images. The results showed that digital image analysis was more sensitive, precise, and accurate in identifying seed shape characteristics compared to visual observation by naked eye, especially seeds that were outside the range of the specified numbers. The variables or parameters selected to differentiate melon seed varieties were area, circularity, feret angle, and aspect ratio.
Seiring berkembangnya teknologi, citra digital dapat digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi morfologi berbagai komoditas pertanian. Identifikasi varietas melalui biji dapat menjadi teknik identifikasi alternatif dalam hal mempelajari keragaman varietas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi bentuk benih dari beberapa varietas melon dengan pendekatan analisis citra digital. Enam varietas melon digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Gracia, Japonika, Roxy, Golden Aroma, Red Aroma, dan Cantaloupe. Citra digital didapatkan dengan teknik scanning dan diolah melalui software ImageJ V1 47q. Analisis geometri dan analisis bentuk dilakukan terhadap citra yang dihasilkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa analisis citra digital lebih sensitif, teliti, dan akurat untuk mengidentifikasi karakter bentuk benih dibandingkan dengan pengamatan secara visual secara kasat mata, khususnya benih yang berada pada luar kisaran angka yang ditetapkan.
